IMPORTANT !!! Always update the administration panel and all your server, do not have a missmatched version on any installation. There are at least 2 updates to install, always! This is a major release, there is no Auto Update available for Version 2.1.6 for the support server. The Administration Panel and signup page can be updated with the build in Auto Updater. Manual update from latest version available, please upload the complete content from the upload/admin_signup and upload/server folder and run the update wizard under install/update.php. !!! Before you start, please make sure you have an up to date backup from your Database and Files !!! Step by Step Guide how to update the Administration panel: 1. Backup your database 2. Backup your files 3. Unpack the brand new Cloud Desk 3 - Version 2.1.6 (that should be done already or you cannot read this :)) 4. Open your FTP Program (do not use cPanel or any other panel for uploading the files) 5. Browse to the directory you have installed your Cloud Desk 3 Administration Panel 6. Delete all files and folders from CD3 on your server except (cache and files) 7. Upload the folders and files on your server with the content of the upload/admin_signup folder 8. Wait until everything has been uploaded correctly 9. Now open the old include/db.php and rename the include/db.new.php into include/db.php 10. Rename the include/db.new.php into include/db.php on your server 11. Also open the new include/db.php from your server 12. Copy the database connection, Password Hash, Full Site Domain, SSL and Rewrite feature into the new db.php file. 13. Open your browser and visiting following URL: https://www.yourdomain.com/install/update.php (yourdomain is something you will need to change) 14. Follow the on screen guide, that will update the database! 15. After you receive a success message you need to delete the complete install directory on the server 16. Finally login with your credentials and check that everything is working! 17. Checkout the manuals which are now available and included in this package. Login with a second browser as a client and you will be able to edit all sections on the front end with the build in editor. 20. Checkout the manuals which are now available and included in this package. ********* *** Already on Version 2.0? *** Simply run the Auto Updater in your Administration and on each Support Server! *** Just for referrence if you have a very old version *** Update for Cloud Desk 3 / Version 2.1.x when you have Version 2.0 installed!!! !!!
